EWANGELIA - J 21, 20-25 (Świadectwo św. Jana Apostoła)

Gdy Jezus zmartwychwstały ukazał się uczniom nad jeziorem Genezaret, Piotr, obróciwszy się, zobaczył idącego za sobą ucznia, którego miłował Jezus,
a który to w czasie uczty spoczywał na Jego piersi i powiedział: «Panie, któż jest ten, który Cię zdradzi?»
Gdy więc go Piotr ujrzał, rzekł do Jezusa: «Panie, a co z tym będzie?»
Odpowiedział mu Jezus: «Jeżeli chcę, aby pozostał, aż przyjdę, to cóż tobie do tego? Ty pójdź za Mną!»
Rozeszła się wśród braci wieść, że uczeń ów nie umrze. Ale Jezus nie powiedział mu, że nie umrze, lecz: «Jeśli Ja chcę, aby pozostał, aż przyjdę, to cóż tobie do tego?»
Ten właśnie uczeń daje świadectwo o tych sprawach, i on je opisał. A wiemy, że świadectwo jego jest prawdziwe.
Jest ponadto wiele innych rzeczy, których Jezus dokonał, a które gdyby je szczegółowo opisać, to sądzę, że cały świat nie pomieściłby ksiąg, jakie trzeba by napisać.

MEDYTACJA

Piotr wypytuje Jezusa o przyszłość Jana, jednak Jezus nie zwierza mu się ze swoich zamiarów. Zachęca go, by nie interesował się za bardzo życiem innych ludzi, ale skoncentrował swoją uwagę na drodze, którą ma do przejścia...

Tajemnicze słowa Jezusa o przyszłości Jana zostają nadinterpretowane przez pozostałych uczniów, którzy przypuszczają, że Jan otrzymał dar nieśmiertelności. To błędne przypuszczenie. Sposób, w jaki interpretujemy słowa innych, ma istotny wpływ na to, jak później postrzegamy rzeczywistość...

Jan wyraża swoją bezradność wobec zadania opisania dobra, którego dokonał Jezus w czasie swojego ziemskiego życia...

Łatwo przychodzi nam interesować się życiem innych ludzi. Najczęstszą przyczyną takiej postawy jest ucieczka od szarzyzny osobistego życia, biorącej się
z braku zaangażowania w drodze za Jezusem, swoistej duchowej dezercji. Koncentracja na odważnym pójściu za Jezusem uzdrawia relacje międzyludzkie...

Rozmowa Jezusa z Piotrem wskazuje na to, jakie mają być przyszłe relacje między uczniami. Piotr jest łącznikiem wspólnoty, instytucji, która ma być ożywiana duchem miłości i służby. Każdy ma w niej swoje miejsce i zadanie. Punktem odniesienia jest zawsze Jezus. To On wyznacza los każdemu przez osobiste wezwanie do pójścia za Nim...

„Miłować bardziej” nie jest rywalizacją z innymi, ale z sobą, zwyciężając egoizm, lęki i grzech...

Jezus uzmysławia Piotrowi jaka jest jego rola. Jest tak wiele spraw, które nas rozpraszają na drodze Bożej, domysłów, pytań, które zadajemy, uzależniając od tego nasze zaangażowanie. Jezus przywołuje Piotra do skoncentrowania się na swoim powołaniu i misji...

Piotr, po zaparciu się Jezusa, po ucieczce spod krzyża, po doświadczeniu niewiary w przyszłość wspólnoty apostołów, po doświadczeniu przebaczenia
i miłosierdzia, gdy trzykrotnie wyznał miłość względem Jezusa, słyszy kolejny raz słowa, które powiedział do niego Jezus przy powołaniu: „Pójdź za mną!”. Dostaje kolejną szansę...

Bóg nie zniechęca się nami, naszymi trudnościami, ale przychodzi z darami Ducha Świętego, abyśmy mogli powstać i rozpocząć na nowo życie, gdy jest to potrzebne. Nie pozostawia nas samych...

Trzymali się razem. Inny jednak miał okazać się los Piotra, inny Jana. Piotr trzydzieści lat później zginie męczeńską śmiercią w Rzymie. Jan przeżyje jeszcze siedemdziesiąt lat i pomimo prześladowań umrze śmiercią naturalną w Efezie…

Młodzieńcze przyjaźnie mogą przetrwać aż do śmierci, ale nie znaczy to, że pójdzie się przez życie tą samą drogą. Owszem, te mogą się kiedyś skrzyżować, wiele radości mogą jeszcze przynieść nowe spotkania i rozmowy, ale trzeba będzie iść wiernie tą drogą, którą Bóg każdemu wyznaczył. Aż do końca. Dopiero ten koniec będzie początkiem wiecznego z wszystkimi bliskimi 'razem'...

Los każdego z nas zależy od Boga. Ta świadomość nadaje właściwy sens i kształt naszego codziennego życia. Bądźmy dla Boga, a będziemy umieli być dla innych i wtedy nasze świadectwo będzie prawdziwe...

Strumienie wody żywej Duch Święty daje nam dobre natchnienia w realizacji naszego życiowego powołania...

Otwórzmy nasze serca i nasze życie na dar obecności Ducha Świętego. To On pomaga nam w poznawaniu prawdy o naszym powołaniu i zadaniach, które Bóg stawia na drogach naszego życia. Módlmy się każdego dnia o Ducha Świętego, 'światłość naszych sumień', byśmy umieli codziennie żyć po Bożemu...

...Jezu, proszę o ufność i głęboką więź z Tobą dla siebie i bliskich... Proszę o poznanie i przyjęcie miłości Boga... Dziękuję za ciągłe powoływanie mnie do służby...

or the memory of Saint John I, pope and martyr

GOSPEL - J 21, 20-25 (Testimony of St. John the Apostle)

When the risen Jesus appeared to the disciples on the Lake of Gennesaret, Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved, who was lying on his chest during the banquet, following him and said: "Lord, who is he who will betray you?"
So when Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this?"
Jesus answered him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me! »
The news spread among the brothers that the disciple would not die. But Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but: "If I want him to remain until
I come, what is that to you?"
This particular disciple testifies to these things, and he wrote them down. And we know that his testimony is true.
Moreover, there are many other things that Jesus did that, if written down in detail, I think the whole world would not be able to contain the books that would have to be written.

MEDITATION

Peter asks Jesus about John's future, but Jesus does not tell him about his intentions. She encourages him not to be too interested in other people's lives, but to concentrate on the path he has to go...

Jesus' mysterious words about John's future are misinterpreted by the other disciples, who assume that John has received the gift of immortality. This is
a wrong assumption. The way we interpret the words of others has a significant impact on how we later perceive reality...

John expresses his helplessness in the task of describing the good that Jesus accomplished during his earthly life...

It's easy for us to become interested in other people's lives. The most common reason for such an attitude is an escape from the dullness of personal life resulting from a lack of commitment in following Jesus, a kind of spiritual desertion. Concentrating on courageously following Jesus heals interpersonal relationships...

Jesus' conversation with Peter indicates what the future relationship between the disciples will be like. Peter is the link of the community, an institution that is to be animated by the spirit of love and service. Everyone has their own place and task in it. The reference point is always Jesus. It is He who determines everyone's fate by personally calling them to follow Him...

"Loving more" is not a competition with others, but with yourself, overcoming selfishness, fears and sin...

Jesus makes Peter realize what his role is. There are so many things that distract us on God's path, speculations, questions that we ask, making our commitment dependent on it. Jesus calls Peter to focus on his calling and mission...

Peter, after denying Jesus, after escaping from the cross, after experiencing disbelief in the future of the community of apostles, after experiencing forgiveness and mercy, when he confessed his love for Jesus three times, hears once again the words that Jesus said to him when he was called: "Follow me!”. He gets another chance...

God is not discouraged by us and our difficulties, but comes with the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that we can rise up and start life anew when needed. He doesn't leave us alone...

They stuck together. However, the fate of Peter and John was to be different. Peter would be martyred thirty years later in Rome. John will live another seventy years and, despite persecution, he will die a natural death in Ephesus...

Youthful friendships may last until death, but that doesn't mean you'll follow the same path through life. Yes, these may cross paths one day, new meetings and conversations may still bring a lot of joy, but we will have to follow faithfully the path that God has designated for each of us. Till the end. Only this end will be the beginning of eternal 'together' with all your loved ones...

The fate of each of us depends on God. This awareness gives proper meaning and shape to our everyday lives. Let us be for God and we will be able to be for others and then our testimony will be true...

Streams of living water The Holy Spirit gives us good inspirations in fulfilling our calling in life...

Let us open our hearts and our lives to the gift of the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is He who helps us learn the truth about our vocation and the tasks that God places on the paths of our lives. Let us pray every day for the Holy Spirit, the 'light of our consciences', so that we can live God's way every day...

...Jesus, I am asking for trust and a deep bond with You for myself and my loved ones... I am asking you to know and accept God's love... Thank you for constantly calling me to serve...
