EWANGELIA - Mk 10, 17-27 (Należy wszystko porzucić, aby iść za Jezusem)

Gdy Jezus wybierał się w drogę, przybiegł pewien człowiek i upadłszy przed Nim na kolana, pytał Go: «Nauczycielu dobry, co mam czynić, aby osiągnąć życie wieczne?»
Jezus mu rzekł: «Czemu nazywasz Mnie dobrym? Nikt nie jest dobry, tylko sam Bóg. Znasz przykazania: Nie zabijaj, nie cudzołóż, nie kradnij, nie zeznawaj fałszywie, nie oszukuj, czcij swego ojca i matkę».
On Mu rzekł: «Nauczycielu, wszystkiego tego przestrzegałem od mojej młodości».
Wtedy Jezus spojrzał z miłością na niego i rzekł mu: «Jednego ci brakuje. Idź, sprzedaj wszystko, co masz, i rozdaj ubogim, a będziesz miał skarb w niebie. Potem przyjdź i chodź za Mną». Lecz on spochmurniał na te słowa i odszedł zasmucony, miał bowiem wiele posiadłości.
Wówczas Jezus spojrzał wokoło i rzekł do swoich uczniów: «Jak trudno jest bogatym wejść do królestwa Bożego». Uczniowie zdumieli się na Jego słowa, lecz Jezus powtórnie rzekł im: «Dzieci, jakże trudno wejść do królestwa Bożego tym, którzy w dostatkach pokładają ufność. Łatwiej jest wielbłądowi przejść przez ucho igielne, niż bogatemu wejść do królestwa Bożego».
A oni tym bardziej się dziwili i mówili między sobą: «Któż więc może się zbawić?»
Jezus spojrzał na nich i rzekł: «U ludzi to niemożliwe, ale nie u Boga; bo u Boga wszystko jest możliwe».

MEDYTACJA

Pewien człowiek, z innych Ewangelii wiemy, że był on młody, przychodzi do Jezusa i z entuzjazmem pyta, co ma zrobić, by osiągnąć zbawienie. Jezus każe młodzieńcowi porzucić wszystko, co ma, wszystko, do czego jest przywiązany. W jego przypadku są to bogactwa...

Jezus spojrzał na młodzieńca z miłością. Musiał uwierzyć, że wypełnia wszystkie przykazania i jest prawym człowiekiem. Tak wiele osiągnął własnymi siłami
i wytrwałością. Brakuje mu jednak zaufania, że jak zostawi to, co uważa za bardzo cenne, to w będąc bardzo blisko Jezusa otrzyma znacznie więcej...

"Nauczycielu dobry, co mam czynić, aby osiągnąć życie wieczne?" (Mk 10, 17b). Zapewne my również, tak jak młodzieniec z Ewangelii, postawilibyśmy to samo pytanie Jezusowi. To bardzo ważne pytanie i trzeba je stawiać. Potrzeba jednocześnie usłyszeć Jezusową odpowiedź i podjąć się jej realizacji...

‘Pewien człowiek’ może być każdym z nas. To ktoś bogaty, mający dobre intencje, a nawet pewną gorliwość. Przybiega i pada na kolana, co świadczy
o postawie ducha. Ma wszystko, oprócz wolności i miłości Boga oraz braci ponad rzeczy. ‘Bogactwo’ czyni go ślepym. Nie ma odwagi podjąć wolnej decyzji za Bogiem i braćmi. Na tym przykładzie Jezus ukazuje na czym polega prawdziwe zbawienie...

Człowiek nie może osiągnąć zbawienia własnymi siłami ani za pomocą rzeczy, które gromadzi. Uznanie tej niemożności sprawia, że otwieramy się na Boże prowadzenie...

Przywiązanie do dóbr materialnych, lęk przed zmianą, powodują głęboki kryzys, nawet u tego, kto ma szczerą intencję pójścia za Panem. Człowiek staje się ‘bankrutem’. Nie będzie umiał kochać Boga, a także siebie i bliźniego, dopóki nie przestanie ‘gromadzić dóbr’ i nie zacznie ‘rozdawać’...

Mody człowiek przestrzegał przykazań, żył naprawdę dobrze, ale nie potrafił zrobić kolejnego kroku w relacji z Bogiem. Nie potrafił uznać, że On jest najważniejszy i oddać wszystkiego, co posiadał, na rzecz innych, ufając, że Bóg zatroszczy się o niego…

Mamy wiele bogactw: rodzinę, przyjaciół, jesteśmy zdrowi, mamy talenty, wykształcenie, mądrość, układy, czas. Czy jesteśmy w stanie to oddać i zawierzyć Bogu, by On był najważniejszy, by nam pobłogosławił i dał nam zdecydowanie więcej? Wówczas jest szansa, że dostaniemy się do nieba...

'Ucho igielne', czyli wąska brama w murach miejskich Jerozolimy, jest pewnym symbolicznym obrazem. Aby przecisnął się przez nią wielbłąd, trzeba z jego
z grzbietu zdjęć wszystko, co posiada, a więc wszelkie bogactwo...

Życie składa się z pytań i odpowiedzi. Codzienność niesie z sobą wiele niespodziewanych zwrotów akcji, które powodują, że odpowiedzi nie są ani łatwe, ani jednoznaczne. Nie warto jednak szukać na oślep albo z pomocą wątpliwej jakości poradników...

Ewangelista przypomina, że jest Nauczyciel, który ma receptę na ludzkie bolączki, gorączkę konsumpcyjną. On potrafi wskazać kierunek poszukiwań odpowiedzi na elementarne pytania. Ważną pomocą życiową, na którą wskazuje Jezus, jest wewnętrzna wolność, dzięki której człowiek nie staje się niewolnikiem posiadania, ale rozwija swoją oryginalność...

Warto zatrzymać się, wsłuchać w słowa Jezusa, by w naszym sercu na nowo mogło wybrzmieć pytanie o najważniejszy cel: życie wieczne. Czy pragniemy go osiągnąć, ale nie w pojedynkę i nie bez Jezusa?...

Jezus zawsze spogląda na nas z miłością i mówi: 'Ja chcę Ciebie'. Przez igielne ucho przeciśniemy się tylko nadzy. Pozostawiając za sobą wszystko, z wyjątkiem serca. Jezus o nie dziś prosi młodzieńca z Ewangelii i każdego z nas...

...Jezu, proszę o łaskę dogłębnego poznania własnych przywiązań i uwolnienie się od nich... Proszę o łaskę wolności i wielkoduszności w dawaniu... Dziękuję za dobra, które mam, abym mógł dzielić się z innymi...

GOSPEL - Mk 10, 17-27 (You must leave everything to follow Jesus)

As Jesus was setting out, a man ran and fell on his knees before Him and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments: You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not defraud, Honor your father and mother.
He said to him, "Teacher, all these things I have observed from my youth."
Then Jesus looked at him with love and said to him, “You lack one thing. Go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure
in heaven. Then come and follow me." But he became gloomy at these words and went away sad, for he had many possessions.
Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who are rich to enter the kingdom of God." The disciples were astonished at his words, but Jesus said to them again, "Children, how difficult it is for those who trust in wealth to enter the kingdom of God. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
And they marveled all the more, and said to one another, "Who then can be saved?"
Jesus looked at them and said, “With men this is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.

MEDITATION

A certain man, we know from other Gospels that he was young, comes to Jesus and enthusiastically asks what he should do to achieve salvation. Jesus tells the young man to give up everything he has, everything to which he is attached. In his case, it's riches...

Jesus looked at the young man with love. He had to believe that he fulfilled all the commandments and was a righteous man. He achieved so much with his own strength and perseverance. However, he lacks trust that if he leaves what he considers very valuable, he will receive much more by being very close to Jesus...

"Good Teacher, what must I do to gain eternal life?" (Mark 10:17b). We would probably also, like the young man from the Gospel, ask Jesus the same question. This is a very important question and it must be asked. We need to simultaneously hear Jesus' answer and undertake to implement it...

'A certain man' could be any of us. This is someone who is rich, has good intentions and even a certain zeal. He runs and falls on his knees, which shows the attitude of the spirit. He has everything except freedom and the love of God and brothers above things. 'Wealth' makes him blind. He does not have the courage to make a free decision for God and his brothers. In this example, Jesus shows what true salvation is...

Man cannot achieve salvation by his own efforts or by the things he accumulates. Recognizing this impossibility makes us open to God's leading...

Attachment to material goods and fear of change cause a deep crisis, even in those who have a sincere intention to follow the Lord. A person becomes 'bankrupt'. He will not be able to love God, nor himself and his neighbor, until he stops 'accumulating goods' and starts 'giving away'...

The fashionable man kept the commandments, lived really well, but was unable to take the next step in his relationship with God. He was unable to recognize that He was the most important and give everything he had to others, trusting that God would take care of him...

We have many riches: family, friends, we are healthy, we have talents, education, wisdom, relationships, time. Are we able to give it up and trust God, so that He will be the most important thing, so that He will bless us and give us much more? Then there is a chance that we will get to heaven...

The 'eye of a needle', a narrow gate in the city walls of Jerusalem, is a symbolic image. In order for a camel to squeeze through it, you need everything it has from its back, that is, all wealth...

Life is made of questions and answers. Everyday life brings many unexpected twists and turns that make the answers neither easy nor clear. However, it is not worth searching blindly or using guides of questionable quality...

The Evangelist reminds us that there is a Teacher who has a recipe for human ills, consumer fever. He can indicate the direction in which to search for answers to elementary questions. An important life aid that Jesus points out is inner freedom, thanks to which a person does not become a slave of possessions, but develops his or her originality...

It is worth stopping and listening to the words of Jesus, so that the question about the most important goal: eternal life can resound in our hearts. Do we want to achieve it, but not alone and not without Jesus?...

Jesus always looks at us with love and says: 'I want you.' We will only get through the eye of a needle naked. Leaving everything behind except your heart. Today, Jesus asks the young man from the Gospel and each of us for it...

...Jesus, I am asking for the grace to thoroughly know my own attachments and to be free from them... I am asking for the grace of freedom and generosity in giving... Thank you for the goods I have so that I can share them with others...
