EWANGELIA - Mt 19, 23-30 (Nagroda za wyrzeczenie podjęte dla Chrystusa)

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: «Zaprawdę powiadam wam: Bogaty z trudnością wejdzie do królestwa niebieskiego. Jeszcze raz wam powiadam: Łatwiej jest wielbłądowi przejść przez ucho igielne niż bogatemu wejść do królestwa niebieskiego».
Gdy uczniowie to usłyszeli, przerazili się bardzo i pytali: «Któż więc może się zbawić?»
Jezus spojrzał na nich i rzekł: «U ludzi to niemożliwe, lecz u Boga wszystko jest możliwe».
Wtedy Piotr rzekł do Niego: «Oto my opuściliśmy wszystko i poszliśmy za Tobą, cóż więc otrzymamy?»
Jezus zaś rzekł do nich: «Zaprawdę powiadam wam: Przy odrodzeniu, gdy Syn Człowieczy zasiądzie na swym tronie chwały, wy, którzyście poszli za Mną, zasiądziecie również na dwunastu tronach sądząc dwanaście pokoleń Izraela. I każdy, kto dla mego imienia opuści dom, braci lub siostry, ojca lub matkę, dzieci lub pole, stokroć tyle otrzyma i życie wieczne odziedziczy.
Wielu zaś pierwszych będzie ostatnimi, a ostatnich pierwszymi.»

MEDYTACJA

Jezus przedstawia swoje reguły. Dla uczniów nie są one zbyt jasne i jednoznaczne, dlatego dopytują i proszą o wyjaśnienie. Jezus mówi im, że ten brak zrozumienia wynika z ich perspektywy, która nie jest jeszcze pełna...

Uczniowie mówią Jezusowi, że wszystko postawili na Niego. Opuścili wszystko i poszli za nim. Ludzkie i zrozumiałe jest, że pytają o nagrodę za podjęcie takiego ryzyka. Nie bójmy się przedstawić Jezusowi swoich oczekiwań...

W życiu z przyjaciółmi wygraną jest nie tyle bycie najlepszym, co radość z bycia razem i pogłębienie przyjaźni. Jezus przedstawia uczniom sens: to, co stracą, dostaną z powrotem ustokrotnione. Innymi słowy, Jezus obiecuje zbawienie, wieczne szczęście i spełnienie...

"Bogaty z trudnością wejdzie do królestwa niebieskiego" (Mt 19, 23). Bogactwem jest wszystko, co nazywamy jako 'moje' i kurczowo trzymamy przy sobie. W ten sposób można mieć zaledwie złotówkę i nie być ubogim. Nie chodzi o ilość dóbr, ale o relację serca do ich posiadania...

Bogaczem można być nie tylko materialnie, lecz również duchowo, to znaczy zasobnym w 'ego', zapatrzonym w swoje umiejętności, talenty, zdobycze. Bogatym w Ewangelii jest ten, kto swoją nadzieję upatruje w czymś lub kimś poza Bogiem. Tylko osoba uboga może wejść do nieba...

Uczniowie po zobaczeniu reakcji 'bogatego młodzieńca' mają dylemat. Widzą, że 'przywiązanie do dóbr' jest przeszkodą w pójściu za Panem, a 'posiadanie bogactwa', rzeczywiste lub upragnione, nie pomaga w drodze do Królestwa...

Każdy musi szukać wolności, która go otwiera na przyszłość. Wielu niestety żyje pozorami. 'Uwolnienie' człowieka od pułapki 'bogactwa i posiadania dóbr' jest działaniem Boga. Jest to konsekwencja spotkania Jezusa 'twarzą w twarz' i doświadczenia powołania. Tylko 'idąc za Nim', każdy na swojej drodze powołania, zyskujemy wolność synów do dzielenia się dobrami z braćmi...

Kto może osiągnąć prawdziwą wolność od posiadania dóbr, od wpływu, poczucia sprawczości? Nie jest to możliwe własnymi siłami. Konieczna jest odpowiedź na dar powołania, jakie każdemu jest dane. Tę wolność zdobywamy 'ponieważ poszliśmy za Nim'...

Wejście do królestwa Bożego jest możliwe. Musimy jednak pamiętać, że jeśli nie podzielimy się naszym bogactwem, nie będziemy nim pomagać, ale zatrzymamy je tylko dla siebie, to tam nie wejdziemy. Może być trudno wówczas przez to symboliczne 'ucho igielne' przecisnąć się. Zaryzykujmy. Jezus mówi, że otrzymamy stokroć więcej...

Dla rozwoju życia duchowego konkretną przeszkodę stanowi, według słów Jezusa, bogactwo. Zbyt duże przywiązanie ludzi do bogactwa rozbudza w nich różne formy egoizmu i pychy. Prowadzi do wyniosłości i obojętności wobec potrzeb innych ludzi...

Ważne stają się w podejściu do bogactwa uważności, aby nie ulec jego ułudzie a także umiarkowanie, by nie zachłysnąć się nim, zapominając, iż nasz wieczny los nie zależy od stanu posiadania ale sposobu użytkowania posiadanych dóbr...

"W życiu (...) przynosi owoce nie ten, kto ma wiele bogactw, ale ten, kto tworzy i utrzymuje wiele więzi, wiele relacji, wiele przyjaźni. Poprzez różne dary, którymi obdarzył go Bóg" (Papież Franciszek)...

Wiemy, że nic materialnego nie zabierzemy z sobą na drugą stronę życia. A mimo to odczuwamy niezwykłe i stałe do nich przywiązanie. Nie ma się co dziwić. To od nich zależy nie tylko nasz codzienny byt, ale też spełnianie marzeń i wygodniejsze życie...

Bóg nie zabrania korzystać z ziemskich dóbr. Przestrzega jednak stanowczo, że gdy one staną się dla nas sensem życia, możemy utracić życie wieczne. Jezus mówi wprost: lepiej, żebyś nie miał nic, niż miał utracić niebo...

...Jezu, proszę o serce, które ponad wszystko pragnie i szuka Ciebie... Proszę o doświadczenia wolności od pragnienia bogactwa... Dziękuję za to, że w każdej sytuacji jesteś ze mną...

GOSPEL - Mt 19, 23-30 (Reward for the renunciation made for Christ)

Jesus said to his disciples: "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"
Jesus looked at them and said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Then Peter said to him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed you; what then will there be for us?"
Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of his glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my name's sake will receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life.
And many who are first will be last, and the last first."

MEDITATION

Jesus presents his rules. For the disciples, they are not very clear and unambiguous, so they ask questions and ask for clarification. Jesus tells them that this lack of understanding is due to their perspective, which is not yet complete...

The disciples tell Jesus that they have staked everything on him. They have left everything and followed him. It is human and understandable that they ask about the reward for taking such a risk. Let us not be afraid to present our expectations to Jesus...

In life with friends, the victory is not so much being the best, but the joy of being together and deepening the friendship. Jesus presents the meaning to the disciples: what they lose, they will get back a hundredfold. In other words, Jesus promises salvation, eternal happiness and fulfillment...

"It will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven" (Mt 19:23). Wealth is everything that we call 'mine' and cling to. In this way, one can have just one złoty and not be poor. It is not about the amount of goods, but about the relationship of the heart to their possession...

One can be rich not only materially, but also spiritually, that is, rich in 'ego', focused on one's skills, talents, achievements. Rich in the Gospel is someone who sees his hope in something or someone outside of God. Only a poor person can enter heaven...

The disciples, after seeing the reaction of the 'rich young man', have a dilemma. They see that 'attachment to goods' is an obstacle to following the Lord, and 'possession of wealth', real or desired, does not help on the path to the Kingdom...

Everyone must seek the freedom that opens them to the future. Unfortunately, many live in appearances. 'Freeing' a person from the trap of 'wealth and possession of goods' is an action of God. It is a consequence of meeting Jesus 'face to face' and experiencing a vocation. Only by 'following Him', each on their own path of vocation, do we gain the freedom of sons to share goods with their brothers...

Who can achieve true freedom from possession of goods, from influence, from a sense of agency? It is not possible by our own strength. It is necessary to respond to the gift of vocation that is given to everyone. We gain this freedom 'because we have followed Him'...

Entry into the kingdom of God is possible. However, we must remember that if we do not share our wealth, do not help with it, but keep it only for ourselves, we will not get there. It may be difficult to squeeze through this symbolic 'eye of the needle'. Let's take a chance. Jesus says that we will receive
a hundred times more...

According to Jesus, wealth is a specific obstacle to the development of spiritual life. People's excessive attachment to wealth arouses various forms of selfishness and pride in them. It leads to arrogance and indifference to the needs of other people...

In the approach to wealth, mindfulness becomes important, so as not to succumb to its illusion, as well as moderation, so as not to get carried away by it, forgetting that our eternal fate does not depend on the state of possessions but on the way we use the goods we possess...

"In life (...) it is not the one who brings fruit who has many riches, but the one who creates and maintains many bonds, many relationships, many friendships. Through the various gifts that God has given him" (Pope Francis)...

We know that we will not take anything material with us to the other side of life. And yet we feel an extraordinary and constant attachment to them. It is no wonder. Not only our daily existence depends on them, but also the fulfillment of dreams and a more comfortable life...

God does not forbid the use of earthly goods. However, he firmly warns that when they become the meaning of life for us, we can lose eternal life. Jesus says it directly: it is better to have nothing than to lose heaven...

...Jesus, I ask for a heart that desires and seeks You above all else... I ask for experiences of freedom from the desire for wealth... Thank you for being with me in every situation...
