EWANGELIA - Łk 13, 1-9 (Wezwanie do nawrócenia)

W tym czasie przyszli niektórzy i donieśli Jezusowi o Galilejczykach, których krew Piłat zmieszał z krwią ich ofiar. Jezus im odpowiedział: «Czyż myślicie, że ci Galilejczycy byli większymi grzesznikami niż inni mieszkańcy Galilei, że to ucierpieli? Bynajmniej, powiadam wam; lecz jeśli się nie nawrócicie, wszyscy podobnie zginiecie.
Albo myślicie, że owych osiemnastu, na których zwaliła się wieża w Siloe i zabiła ich, było większymi winowajcami niż inni mieszkańcy Jerozolimy? Bynajmniej, powiadam wam: lecz jeśli się nie nawrócicie, wszyscy tak samo zginiecie».
I opowiedział im następującą przypowieść: «Pewien człowiek miał drzewo figowe zasadzone w swojej winnicy; przyszedł i szukał na nim owoców, ale nie znalazł.
Rzekł więc do ogrodnika: „Oto już trzy lata, odkąd przychodzę i szukam owocu na tym drzewie figowym, a nie znajduję. Wytnij je: po co jeszcze ziemię wyjaławia?”.
Lecz on mu odpowiedział: „Panie, jeszcze na ten rok je pozostaw; ja okopię je i obłożę nawozem; może wyda owoc. A jeśli nie, w przyszłości możesz je wyciąć”».

MEDYTACJA

Bóg każdego dnia i każdej nocy przechadza się po ogrodzie świata i niczym ogrodnik dogląda swoich roślin. Chociaż dał nam go w posiadanie, a my niejednokrotnie chcemy usunąć te rośliny, które nie wydają owoców, On targuje się z nami, chcąc przywrócić im życie, tak by znów w pełni owocowały...

Takim ogrodem może być życie każdego z nas. Czasem wydaje się nam, że coś jest już stracone i nie mamy już w sobie nadziei. Bóg daje nam wtedy wspaniałą obietnicę: pozwól Mi się tym zająć, a przywrócę ci życie...

Nawrócenie jest zwróceniem się w kierunku Boga. On czeka na nas zawsze. Jest gotowy, by pomóc, nie naruszając naszej wolności...

"Każdemu z nas została dana łaska według miary daru Chrystusowego" (Ef 4, 7)...

Usprawiedliwienie ustanawia współpracę między łaską Bożą i wolnością człowieka. Jej wyrazem ze strony człowieka jest przyzwolenie wiary na słowo Boże, które wzywa go do nawrócenia, oraz współdziałanie miłości z poruszeniem Ducha Świętego, który go uprzedza i strzeże (KKK, n. 1993). Warto sobie tę prawdę przypominać zwłaszcza wtedy, kiedy stajemy wobec najróżniejszych trudności...

Mocą łaski i naszej dobrej woli jesteśmy wstanie wszystko pokonać. Bez łaski ustajemy...

Zabójstwo Galilejczyków mówi o decyzji człowieka, złu, które dokonywane jest z premedytacją. Śmierć w wyniku jakiegoś kataklizmu przypomina
o gwałtowności przyrody, niesprawiedliwości losu. Te sytuacje rodzą pytania o to dlaczego Bóg dopuszcza krzywdy, przemoc i katastrofy? Trwa tajemniczy dialog między sprawiedliwością, a miłosierdziem...

Zło jest stałym elementem naszego życia, racjonalnie niewytłumaczalnym. Rozeznawanie znaków czasu polega na dostrzeganiu Pana, który przychodzi na różne sposoby, aby wzywać nas do nawrócenia...

Żyjemy w kontekście cierpliwości i miłosierdzia Boga, który przychodzi do swego stworzenia, szukając owoców sprawiedliwości. Dlatego trzeba głosić Ewangelię, by wszyscy mogli usłyszeć o miłości Ojca w Jezusie. Bóg nie ma upodobania w niszczeniu, ale w nawróceniu...

Jacyś ludzie z tłumu mówią Jezusowi o Galilejczykach, którzy udali się do Jerozolimy złożyć ofiary i których Piłat kazał zgładzić. Ci, którzy donieśli o tym Jezusowi, chcieli najpewniej, aby wypowiedział się o rzymskiej okupacji. Jezus wykorzystał tę sytuacje, aby mówić o grzechu i potrzebie nawrócenia. W tej przypowieści jest prawdę o Dobrym Bogu, o Jego miłosierdziu i cierpliwości...

Czasami uważamy, że jest w miarę dobrze z nami i nie trzeba nic zmieniać. Nie tędy droga. Bóg, na szczęście, nie zniechęca się. Daje wiele możliwości powrotu do Niego, do rozpoczęcia ewangelicznego owocowania. Mówiąc językiem przypowieści, czasem nas okopuje, czasem okłada nawozem, co nie jest najłatwiejszym doświadczeniem krzyża, posyła ludzi. Uwierzmy, że z Jego pomocą damy radę...

W Piśmie Świętym prawda i miłość są z sobą związane: prawda o sobie i miłość do siebie, prawda o Bogu i miłość do Boga. Kochać prawdziwie drugich można tylko w odniesieniu do prawdy, żyjąc tą prawdą...

Obraz Pawłowy – dzieci, którymi miotają fale, dzieci poruszane każdym powiewem fałszywej nauki – jest obrazem kogoś, kto trwa w niewiedzy, pozbawionego władzy nad sobą, kontroli, kogoś bezradnego. Uchroni nas przed tym jedno: znajomość prawdy, umiejętność życia tą prawdą...

Bóg chce od nas byśmy nawrócili się, żyli w pełni. Daje nam szansę jak mieszkańcom Galilei i Siloam, jak słuchającym Go apostołom. Okopani i obłożeni nawozem, pozostawieni na dzień, może na rok...

Jezus stawia przed ludźmi zestawienie realiów życia z ich horyzontami myślowymi. Pokazuje, że interpretują wydarzenia 'ku śmierci', a nie 'ku życiu'. Poszukiwanie winnych czy wskazywanie winy u innych, to ślepa uliczka. Pożądane jest skierowanie swojego myślenia ku Bogu. On daje życie dziś, On inwestuje w człowieka, w każdego z nas, dziś, dając nam teraźniejszość...

Bóg dba o człowieka, nawet o takiego, którego nikt nie uważa za wartościowego, nawet wtedy, gdy on sam siebie odrzuca. Ukierunkujmy się ku Niemu, by dalej żyć naprawdę w pełni...

...Jezu, proszę o zdecydowaną wolę zerwania z grzechem, który najbardziej mnie osłabia... Proszę o łaskę, bym umiał widzieć zło jako wezwanie do zmiany życia i budowaniu go na miłosierdziu... Dziękuję za czas, jaki jest mi dany do nawrócenia...

GOSPEL - Lk 13, 1-9 (Call to repent)

At that time some came and reported to Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices. Jesus answered them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all others who lived in Galilee, because they suffered this? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all others who live in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."
And he told them this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. He said to the gardener, “For three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down; why does it still make the ground barren?”
But he answered him, “Sir, leave it alone for one more year; I will dig around it and manure it; perhaps it will bear fruit. If not, then you can cut it down later.”

MEDITATION

Every day and every night God walks through the garden of the world and, like a gardener, tends his plants. Although he has given it to us as a possession, and we often want to remove those plants that do not bear fruit, he bargains with us, wanting to give them life again, so that they may bear fruit in full...

The life of each of us can be such a garden. Sometimes it seems to us that something is already lost and we no longer have hope in ourselves. Then God gives us a wonderful promise: let me take care of it, and I will give you life again...

Conversion is turning towards God. He is always waiting for us. He is ready to help without violating our freedom...

"To each of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift" (Eph. 4:7)...

Justification establishes cooperation between God's grace and human freedom. Its expression on the part of man is the consent of faith to the word of God, which calls him to conversion, and the cooperation of love with the movement of the Holy Spirit, who anticipates and guards him (KKK, n. 1993). It is worth reminding ourselves of this truth especially when we face various difficulties...

With the power of grace and our good will we are able to overcome everything. Without grace we give up...

The murder of the Galileans speaks of a human decision, evil that is carried out with premeditation. Death as a result of some cataclysm reminds us of
the violence of nature, the injustice of fate. These situations raise questions about why God allows injustice, violence and disasters? There is a mysterious dialogue between justice and mercy...

Evil is a constant, rationally inexplicable element of our lives. Discerning the signs of the times consists in perceiving the Lord who comes in various ways to call us to conversion...

We live in the context of the patience and mercy of God, who comes to his creation, seeking the fruits of justice. That is why the Gospel must be proclaimed so that all may hear of the Father's love in Jesus. God does not delight in destruction, but in conversion...

Some people in the crowd tell Jesus about the Galileans who went to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices and whom Pilate ordered to be killed. Those who reported this to Jesus probably wanted him to speak about the Roman occupation. Jesus used this situation to speak about sin and the need for conversion. In this parable there is the truth about the Good God, about his mercy and patience...

Sometimes we think that everything is quite good with us and that nothing needs to be changed. This is not the way. Fortunately, God does not get discouraged. He gives us many opportunities to return to Him, to begin to bear Gospel fruit. Speaking in the language of parables, sometimes He digs us in, sometimes He covers us with fertilizer, which is not the easiest experience of the cross, He sends people. Let us believe that with His help we will manage...

In the Holy Scriptures, truth and love are connected: the truth about oneself and love for oneself, the truth about God and love for God. We can only truly love others in relation to the truth, living this truth...

The Pauline image – children tossed by waves, children moved by every wind of false teaching – is an image of someone who remains in ignorance, deprived of power over themselves, control, someone helpless. One thing will protect us from this: knowledge of the truth, the ability to live this truth...

God wants us to convert, to live fully. He gives us a chance like the inhabitants of Galilee and Siloam, like the apostles who listened to Him. Dug in and covered in manure, left for a day, maybe a year...

Jesus confronts people with the realities of life and their horizons of thought. He shows that they interpret events 'towards death', not 'towards life'. Looking for those responsible or pointing out guilt in others is a dead end. It is desirable to direct our thinking towards God. He gives life today, He invests in man,
in each of us, today, giving us the present...

God cares for man, even for the one whom no one considers valuable, even when he rejects himself. Let us direct ourselves towards Him, so that we may continue to live truly fully...

...Jesus, I ask for a decisive will to break with the sin that weakens me the most... I ask for the grace to be able to see evil as a call to change my life and build it on mercy... Thank you for the time that is given to me for conversion...
