EWANGELIA - Łk 5, 12-16 (Jezus cudownie uzdrawia)

Gdy Jezus przebywał w jednym z miast, zjawił się człowiek cały pokryty trądem. Gdy ujrzał Jezusa, upadł na twarz i prosił Go: «Panie, jeśli chcesz, możesz mnie oczyścić». Jezus wyciągnął rękę i dotknął go, mówiąc: «Chcę, bądź oczyszczony». I natychmiast trąd z niego ustąpił.
A On mu przykazał, żeby nikomu nie mówił: «Ale idź, pokaż się kapłanowi i złóż ofiarę za swe oczyszczenie, jak przepisał Mojżesz, na świadectwo dla nich».
Lecz tym szerzej rozchodziła się Jego sława, a liczne tłumy zbierały się, aby Go słuchać i znaleźć uzdrowienie ze swych niedomagań. On jednak usuwał się na miejsca pustynne i modlił się.

MEDYTACJA

Według Prawa Mojżeszowego osoba pokryta trądem była skazana na samotność. Trędowaty był kimś nieczystym, kto mógł zarazić zdrowych ludzi. To dlatego by chronić innych, trzeba było odizolować go od społeczeństwa. Jezus daje się poznać jako osoba, która przekracza prawo i schematy. Dotyka tego, co
w człowieku chore, odrzucone i zepchnięte na margines...

Wyrazem głębokiego szacunku pomiędzy ludźmi jest wzajemne słuchanie siebie. Dzięki temu może rozwijać się relacja, gdyż oparta jest na pragnieniu zrozumienia drugiego. Prośba Jezusa skierowana do trędowatego nie jest tylko jakąś instrukcją czy prawnym poleceniem. Kryje się za nią coś głębszego: to świadectwo, jakie Jezus chce, by trędowaty złożył. Nie jest to jedynie ofiara...

Wsłuchując się Ewangelię, możemy zauważyć pewne odwrócenie ról. Trędowaty wyrwany z samotności przez Jezusa zostaje uratowany i zwrócony społeczności. Natomiast Jezus wchodzi w samotność, aby modlić się i przebywać z Ojcem. By odkryć, co Bóg uczynił i co czyni w naszym życiu, potrzeba usunąć się na pustkowie. Cisza jest przestrzenią spotkania i rozpoznawania darów Bożych. Bóg to cisza...

Ewangelista Jan jest uznawany za największego teologa wśród Ewangelistów. Zrozumienie jego tekstów może niekiedy przysporzyć nam trudności. Tak jest także z tym enigmatycznym stwierdzeniem dotyczącym Jezusa, który przeszedł przez wodę i krew. Przypuszcza się, że jest to reakcja Jana, jego nurt myślowy, polegający na 'dzieleniu' Jezusa i swoistym patrzeniu na Jego Osobę...

Trąd w starożytności był uznawany za coś nieczystego. Był wielkim zagrożeniem dla wspólnoty, bo nie znano lekarstwa na tę chorobę. Wielu uważało go za karę Bożą za popełnione grzechy. Trędowaty był wykluczony ze swojej społeczności, był nieczysty i stawał się żywcem pogrzebanym wyrzutkiem...

Trędowaty w dzisiejszej Ewangelii przekracza przepis prawny, który zabrania mu zbliżania się do innych. Jezus nie boi się zarazić. Odsyła chorego do kapłana, bo poświadczenie uzdrowienia ma znaczenie prawne, pozwala na powrót do wspólnoty...

Jezus nie szuka poklasku, ale Jego czyny są aż nadto wymowne. Cud uzdrowienia przywraca życie nie tylko fizyczne, ale i duchowe. Tłumy zbierają się, aby słuchać i znaleźć uzdrowienie ze swych niedomagań...

Dla Żydów trędowaty był symbolem grzechu i skutkiem grzechu chorego człowieka, a czasem jego przodków. Chrystus, uzdrawiając trędowatego fizycznie,
w warstwie symbolicznej uzdrawia także jego serce – oczyszcza je z grzechu. Może nam wydawać się, że mamy takie grzechy, których On nie uleczy, ale to nieprawda...

Ewangelista Jan ukazuje Jezusa jako Syna Bożego, przez którego otrzymujemy zwycięstwo nad światem. Przypomina, że nasza wiara jest fundamentem, który daje nam siłę w trudnościach. Wiara to nie tylko uznanie istnienia Boga, ale zaufanie Mu w każdym aspekcie życia. To również oddawanie naszych codziennych spraw Jego prowadzeniu. Dbanie, by nasza wiara płynęła z głębokiej relacji z Nim...

Trędowaty, którego Jezus oczyszcza, pokazuje na czym polega wiara. Jego słowa: 'Panie, jeśli chcesz, możesz mnie oczyścić' są jej wyrazem. Mówią też
o wielkiej pokorze proszącego...

Bożą wolą jest uzdrawianie i przywracanie pełni życia. Także w nas Jezus chce uzdrawiać to, co chore, nie tylko w sferze fizycznej, ale przede wszystkim duchowej. Wiara, pokora i zaufanie to klucze do otwarcia naszych serc na Jego działanie. Dlatego powinniśmy dążyć do budowania głębszej więzi z Nim. Wtedy mocą Jego miłości, pomimo pozornych porażek i trudności, odniesiemy zwycięstwo...

Tłumy przychodzą, aby słuchać Jezusa i zyskać uzdrowienie ze swoich niedomagań. Jednak On odsuwa się na pustynię, wybierając rozmowę z Ojcem. Przenosi w ten sposób uwagę wszystkich na bliskość z Bogiem, trwałą, a nie okazjonalną, na budowanie więzi, a nie tylko zyskiwanie pociechy w chwilach słabości...

Jezus podprowadza tłumy do Ojca, w którym jest życie i przy którym człowiek odzyskuje świadomość swojej prawdziwej tożsamości. Jezus nie stwarza iluzji życia na ziemi bez chorób i cierpienia. Wskazuje natomiast, kogo należy się trzymać, by widzieć porządek świata, jego cel i Pana. Miłość okaże się silniejsza od najtrudniejszych emocji...

...Jezu, proszę o oczyszczenie serca i duszy z 'trądu' złych myśli, uczuć i zamiarów... Proszę, abym modlił się i oczekiwał uzdrowienia bez roszczeń,
w zawierzeniu... Dziękuję za to, że Bóg przychodzi do mnie, pomimo moich słabości i niedomagań...

GOSPEL - Lk 5, 12-16 (Jesus miraculously heals)

While Jesus was in one of the cities, there came a man covered with leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, saying, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean." And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be clean." And immediately the leprosy left him.
And he commanded him to tell no one, saying, "But go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." And his fame spread even wider, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. But he withdrew to desert places and prayed.

MEDITATION

According to the Mosaic Law, a person covered with leprosy was condemned to solitude. A leper was someone unclean who could infect healthy people. That is why, in order to protect others, he had to be isolated from society. Jesus shows himself as a person who goes beyond the law and patterns. He touches what is sick, rejected and marginalized in a person...

An expression of deep respect between people is mutual listening to each other. Thanks to this, a relationship can develop, because it is based on the desire to understand the other. Jesus' request to the leper is not just some instruction or legal command. There is something deeper behind it: it is the testimony that Jesus wants the leper to bear. It is not just a sacrifice...

Listening to the Gospel, we can notice a certain reversal of roles. The leper, torn from solitude by Jesus, is saved and returned to the community. On the other hand, Jesus enters solitude to pray and be with the Father. To discover what God has done and is doing in our lives, we need to withdraw into the wilderness. Silence is the space for encounter and recognition of God's gifts. God is silence...

The evangelist John is considered the greatest theologian among the Evangelists. Understanding his texts can sometimes cause us difficulties. This is also the case with this enigmatic statement about Jesus who passed through water and blood. It is assumed that this is John's reaction, his train of thought, consisting in 'dividing' Jesus and looking at His Person in a specific way...

In ancient times, leprosy was considered something unclean. It was a great threat to the community, because there was no known cure for this disease. Many considered it to be God's punishment for the sins committed. A leper was excluded from his community, was unclean and became an outcast buried alive...

The leper in today's Gospel transgresses the legal regulation that forbids him from approaching others. Jesus is not afraid to infect. He sends the sick person to the priest, because the certificate of healing has legal significance, allowing them to return to the community...

Jesus does not seek applause, but His actions are all too eloquent. The miracle of healing restores life not only physically, but also spiritually. Crowds gather to listen and find healing from their ailments...

For the Jews, the leper was a symbol of sin and the result of the sin of the sick person, and sometimes his ancestors. Christ, healing the leper physically, also symbolically heals his heart - cleanses it of sin. It may seem to us that we have sins that He cannot heal, but this is not true...

The evangelist John presents Jesus as the Son of God, through whom we receive victory over the world. He reminds us that our faith is the foundation that gives us strength in difficulties. Faith is not only the recognition of God's existence, but trusting Him in every aspect of life. It is also entrusting our daily affairs to His guidance. Ensuring that our faith flows from a deep relationship with Him...

The leper whom Jesus cleanses shows what faith is all about. His words: 'Lord, if you will, you can cleanse me' are an expression of it. They also speak of the great humility of the petitioner...

God's will is to heal and restore the fullness of life. Jesus also wants to heal what is sick in us, not only in the physical sphere, but above all in the spiritual sphere. Faith, humility and trust are the keys to opening our hearts to His action. That is why we should strive to build a deeper relationship with Him. Then, through the power of His love, despite apparent defeats and difficulties, we will triumph...

Crowds come to listen to Jesus and gain healing from their ailments. However, He withdraws into the desert, choosing to talk to the Father. In this way, he shifts everyone's attention to closeness to God, permanent and not occasional, to building bonds and not just gaining comfort in moments of weakness...

Jesus leads the crowds to the Father, in whom there is life and with whom man regains awareness of his true identity. Jesus does not create the illusion of life on earth without illness and suffering. Instead, he indicates who to cling to in order to see the order of the world, its purpose and the Lord. Love will prove stronger than the most difficult emotions...

...Jesus, I ask for cleansing of my heart and soul from the 'leprosy' of bad thoughts, feelings and intentions... I ask that I pray and wait for healing without demands, in trust... I thank you that God comes to me, despite my weaknesses and ailments...
